Digital Life Certificate for Pension: How to Submit Online in 2026

Every year in November, government pensioners must submit a Life Certificate to confirm they are still alive and the pension payments should continue. If you miss this, your pension gets suspended until you submit it. The Jeevan Pramaan app makes this process possible from your home, without a bank visit.

What you need: A smartphone with internet. Your biometric data (fingerprint or iris) or face authentication through Aadhaar. Your Aadhaar number linked to your pension account. Your PPO (Pension Payment Order) number. Your bank account number where pension is credited.

Step by step: Download the Jeevan Pramaan app from Google Play or the App Store. Open the app and enter your Aadhaar number. Choose your authentication method. Fingerprint authentication works with most Android phones that have a fingerprint scanner. Face authentication works if your phone has a good front camera. Enter your PPO number, pension sanctioning authority, bank details, and mobile number. Submit. You'll receive an SMS with your Pramaan ID. Share this ID with your bank or pension office if needed.

Alternative: Door step banking. Many banks offer doorstep visits for senior citizens specifically for Life Certificate submission. SBI, PNB, and Bank of Baroda have this service in Gorakhpur. Call your bank's senior citizen helpline to schedule a home visit.

Alternative: Nearest Common Service Centre. Every panchayat has a Common Service Centre where the operator can help you submit your Life Certificate digitally. Carry your Aadhaar and PPO number.
